Tachipirina is not used
if you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine!
Adults
The recommended dose is 1 500 mg tablet every 4 hours without exceeding 6 doses per day.
In case of severe pain or high fever, 2 tablets of 500 mg. If necessary, they can be taken again after no less than 4 hours.
For adults, the maximum oral dose is 3000 mg of paracetamol per day.
Use in children and adolescents
For children, it is essential to respect the dosage determined based on their body weight. The doctor will recommend the most appropriate amount based on the child's weight..
-For children weighing 21-25 kg, approximately 6.5-8 years old, ½ tablet is recommended.
The dose is repeated after 4 hours, if necessary.
Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours.
-For children weighing 26-40 kg, approximately 8-11 years old, 1 tablet is recommended.
The dose is repeated after 6 hours, if necessary.
Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.
-For children weighing 41-50 kg, approximately 12-15 years old, 1 tablet is recommended.
The dose is repeated after 4 hours, if necessary.
Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours.
-For children weighing more than 50 kg, over 15 years of age, 1 tablet is recommended.
The dose is repeated after 4 hours, if necessary.
Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours.
For children weighing under 21 kg, Tachipirina is available in other specific formulas. Consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Tachipirina.
Tachipirina should be used with caution in the following cases, when the person taking it:
chronically drinks alcohol or drinks excessively (3 or more alcoholic drinks per day)
suffers from anorexia (an eating disorder characterized by a lack or decrease in appetite)
suffers from bulimia (an eating disorder where the person ingests an excessive amount of food and then uses various methods to eliminate it)
suffers from cachexia (a condition characterized by extreme weakness, decreased muscle mass, and thinning skin due to chronic diseases)
have been following an incorrect eating regimen for a long time (chronic malnutrition)
suffers from dehydration (serious loss of water/fluids from the body)
suffers from hypovolemia (reduction in circulating blood volume)
suffers from liver diseases that reduce its function (hepatic failure, hepatitis, Gilbert's syndrome)
are being treated simultaneously with medicines that alter liver function (see “Other medicines and Tachipirin”)
suffers from a deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (a substance normally found in the human body, the lack of which can cause a blood disease)
suffers from hemolytic anemia (destruction of red blood cells).
Taking high doses and/or for prolonged periods
Taking high doses and/or for prolonged periods of time of this medicine may cause changes, even serious, to the detriment of the kidneys and blood. In these cases, the doctor checks over time and through appropriate examinations, the function of the liver, kidneys and the composition of the blood. Before taking this medicine, inform the doctor if the person who is to take the medicine suffers from any kidney or liver disease.
