In the skin microbiome, the bacteria responsible for blemishes are made up of several subtypes called phylotypes. Research has shown that a lack of diversity among phylotypes and a predominance of phylotype IA1 are associated with the prevalence and severity of acne.
The Effaclar Duo+ M formula contains an ingredient called Phylobioma which acts on the IA1 phylotype to reduce blemishes and sebum overproduction. Its effectiveness has been proven on oily and acne-prone skin.
